In 1882, workers marched to advocate for basic work environment safety and necessities. Now, we celebrate that historic day on the first Monday of every September. It’s America’s “workingmen’s holiday,” and most of us use it to kick back and take advantage of some hard-earned rest. But if you would like to spend the day helping others, Irving Cares will be accepting donations from 9am until 2pm. We need canned food – meat, meals & fruit; shampoo, deodorant and toothbrushes for Hurricane Harvey evacuees. There’s no better way to take a day off than helping others!
