Alejandra was a stay-at-home mom until her husband’s hours were cut, and then she had to get a job. The expenses kept piling up, and the family came to Irving Cares for rent assistance to prevent eviction. They had no money to buy Christmas gifts, so their Case Manager, Michelle, referred them to our partners, the Knights of Columbus, who delivered gifts on Dec. 17. They also got a week’s worth of nutritious groceries from the food pantry so they could use their grocery money to pay bills.
