We asked for food drives in March and April to help fend off the “Summer Squeeze.” The squeeze happens when low-income families have children home from school in summer, which brings higher grocery bills. While many children eat at the Irving ISD’s Summer Meals Program, food pantry requests increase – summer is easily the busiest season of the year for the food pantry. These folks stepped up with award-winning food drives!
